High End Pick

Berkel Red Line 220 Food Slicer
My pick for the all around, absolute best meat slicer.
Budget Pick

Chefman Electric Deli & Food Slicer Machine
My pick for the best meat slicer under $100.
1. Berkel Red Line 220 Food Slicer
Berkel Red Line 220 Food Slicer
What sets the Berkel Red Line 220 apart is not the fact that it has features that other meat slicers don’t have, it’s that each of these features on the Red Line 220 are, simply put, better.
The Berkel Red Line 220 is hands down the best meat slicer for home kitchens on the market. The machine is both aesthetically stunning and engineered to perfection, perfect for slicing prosciutto to paper-like thinness.
I love the color and design. The Red Line 220 is elegant and lightweight, made from a special aluminum alloy that holds strength without being overly heavy. But the truth is, I wouldn’t care if this thing weighed 200lbs, since I have no plans to take it off my counter – it’s that beautiful.
The chrome steel blade slices perfectly, and the machine features a built-in sharpener to maintain the cutting edge and blade efficiency. And all of the major components – slice deflector, blade cover and meat table – can be easily released, making the Red Line 220 pretty easy to clean.
The real difference between the Berkel Red Line 220 and other meat slicers isn’t necessarily features that other meat slicers don’t have, it’s the fact that these features are all, simply put, better. From the blade to the thickness adjustment knob to the automatic release system, each component of the Red Line 220 is the best on the market.

2. Ostba – Professional Meat Slicer
Ostba – Professional Meat Slicer
The Ostba Professional Meat Slicer is the most powerful machine at this price point, and a great option for home chefs that don’t want to break the bank.
The Ostba Professional Meat Slicer is an affordable, compact machine, perfect for small kitchens and occasional use. The 200 watt motor is powerful enough to cut through frozen meats and cheeses, while the adjustable, serrated blade can cut from very thin – think, transparent thin – all the way up to ¾ of an inch thick. For best results, Ostba recommends slicing cold, almost frozen meats.
Of course, meat slicers can be a little scary, and I personally am always a bit nervous using them. The fast spinning serrated blade on this machine certainly doesn’t help my meat slicing fears, but I do appreciate the safety lock that protects against unintended use. The Ostba meat slicer also has four, suction-like rubber feet that keep the machine stable and secure, and guards against accidents.
Unfortunately, to sell this machine at such an affordable price point, Ostba had to skimp on a few details. For one, the plastic meat pusher is very fragile, so you’ll need to be gentle to avoid breaking it. And as far as cleaning goes, as you might imagine, it’s not the easiest machine to wash. But, if you’re willing to take a little extra time after each use, the Ostba Professional Meat Slicer could still be a great option.

3. BESWOOD 10″ Electric Meat Slicer
BESWOOD 10″ Electric Meat Slicer
The Beswood 250 Premium Meat Slicer looks, feels and performs like a $1,000 machine, but nobody has to know that you paid much, much less.
The Beswood 250 Premium Meat Slicer is a truly professional machine made from high quality materials. The Chromium-plated carbon steel blade is made in and imported from Italy, and mounted on a sleek, solid aluminum body. Aesthetically, this thing is stunning.
The 240 watt motor is more than powerful enough to slice through frozen deli meats and cheeses, and the rubber feet ensure that the machine stays put. You can adjust slicing thickness from tissue paper thin up to about half an inch thick.
In terms of detail, it’s hard to know where to start. There is a mounted double stone sharpener that ensures the blade remains razor sharp, a really smart feature in my opinion. The V-belt technology also keeps this machine purring pretty quietly, reducing noise and vibrations.
You’ll want to wipe the Beswood 250 down after each use to make sure that the aluminum body doesn’t stain, but that’s standard practice with a machine like this anyway. And of course, this thing is heavy. Not so heavy that you can’t easily store the meat slicer in a cabinet and take it out for each use, but still heavy. In truth, the Beswood 250 is a solid, professional meat slicer that bridges the space between commercial and home kitchen, excelling in both.

4. Kitchenware Station – KWS MS-10NT Commercial Meat Slicer
Kitchenware Station – KWS MS-10NT Commercial Meat Slicer
The KWS MS-10NT is both sleek and efficient, and at 320 watts, it’s the most powerful meat slicer on this list.
The Kitchenware Station (KWS) MS-10NT Commercial Meat Slicer is a beast of a machine. Let’s start with power. The MS-10NT motor comes in at 320 watts, powerful enough for commercial use and more than enough for slicing meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables easy in a home kitchen.
The 10” blade is stainless steel and Teflon-coated, and positioned with built-in dual whetstones that hone with each use, conveniently keeping the blade edge extremely sharp. It slices easily from very thin all the way up to almost half an inch thick, which is fairly standard. The MS-10NT body is made from aluminum alloy, and just touching this machine you can feel the quality instantly.
I have read that people don’t love cleaning this thing. Although the blade can be removed, you’ll need to take out some screws to do so, and the sliding arm can get in the way of cleaning as well. But honestly, it’s a meat slicer, and machines like this will always be more difficult to clean than your average kitchen appliance. Have some patience, wipe down your machine, and the MS-10NT will last you forever.

5. Chefman Electric Deli & Food Slicer Machine
Chefman Electric Deli & Food Slicer Machine
This Chefman Electric Meat Slicer is proof that you don’t need to drop hundreds of dollars to get a quality product – perfect for home kitchens and occasional use.
The good people at Chefman are here to prove that you don’t need to drop hundreds of dollars on a meat slicer to get a quality machine and above average performance. The Chefman Electric Meat Slicer is the perfect budget option for those looking to slice deli meats every once in a while, but who may be a little put off by the price tags of some of the other machines on this list. And with its compact design, the Chefman is super convenient, easily fitting into most cabinets for storage when not in use.
I’m a big fan of this meat slicer’s superior design. The food carriage can be quick-released, making it easy to clean – and it’s dishwasher safe, by the way. It also features a completely removable serrated stainless-steel blade and die-cast aluminum housing, again, making cleaning up a cake walk.
In terms of safety – always a top concern when using a meat slicer – Chefman checks all my boxes. It has sturdy, non-slip feet to ensure the machine stays put, a safety guard on the blade itself, and an easy-to-use food pusher with handle so fingers don’t come anywhere close to the spinning blade.
Of course, at such a budget price, there are a few trade offs. The Chefman Electric Meat Slicer is pretty noisy, which is surprising since the motor isn’t all that powerful either. I wouldn’t try slicing through a frozen ham with this machine, but it’s still more than enough power for normal deli meats.

6. Cusimax – 7.5” Non-Serrated Meat Slicer
Cusimax – 7.5” Non-Serrated Meat Slicer
Versatile and affordable, the Cusimax 7.5” Non-Serrated Meat Slicer is another great option for home chefs, and a fan favorite.
Another affordable option, the Cusimax 7.5” Non-Serrated Meat Slicer packs serious power for such a small machine. The motor features 200 watts of slicing power, perfect for turkey, hams and cheese, as well as vegetables and fruit.
The blade is easy to remove and dishwasher safe, and adjustable for slicing from very thin all the way up to about ¾”, which is actually thicker than most other machines on this list. The greater slicing range just adds to versatility, and I suppose could be good for assembling a nice little cheese plate.
One problem that I have with this machine though is that you can only use it in 10 minute intervals. This is to prevent the motor overheating, which seems to me like substandard design. That said, rarely could I imagine needing to use a meat slicer for more than 10 minutes anyway, so this shouldn’t be an issue for most home kitchens.
